The Agriculture Network Information Center (AgNIC) is a partnership of nearly 50 member institutions and organizations that offer "reliable access to quality agricultural information and sources." AgNIC is supported by the USDA's National Agricultural Library.
2007 Census of Agriculture
The Census of Agriculture is the leading source of statistics on US agricultural production. Quick Stats allows users to query by commodity, state, and years. Links to previous censuses are also available - most documents are in PDF files.
National Agricultural Library (NAL)
The NAL is the nation's primary source for agricultural information. It is also one of the world's largest and most accessible agricultural research libraries. To access NAL's publications click here.
National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS)
The NASS provides timely, accurate, and useful statistics in service to U.S. agriculture. NASS publications cover a wide range of subjects including corn and wheat, mushrooms and flowers, and agricultural prices and acreage in farms.

Food & Nutrition Service Assistance Programs
Food Safety & Inspection Service - administers the federal meat and poultry inspection system and educates industry and consumers about food safety;
Natural Resources Conservation Service - maintains national forests and grasslands, and promotes conservation of private lands;
Research, Education & Economics - conducts agricultural and economic research to assess and develop solutions to agricultural problems.
USDA Rural Development
USDA Rural Development is committed through various programs to improving the economy and quality of life in all of rural America. The Water and Environmental Programs help the rural communities meet their basic needs by building water and wastewater systems; Rural Development Housing helps finance decent and affordable housing; Rural Development’s Electric Program, and Rural Business and Cooperative Program offer information and technical assistance to the rural population of America.
